It's nice to know that Mastodon is capable of nearly crashing my entire system from a single Firefox tab left open for one week...
If there is a known memory leak in this project's code, how has there not been any work done in fixing it? Or has there been work done, but the work hasn't been merged in with the project? It seems like a major flaw for any user who uses Mastodon for any length of time...

"Correct. There is no user-land garbage collection on the Redux store so to speak. It's been bugging me for a while but I'm just running on the assumption that people occasionally close the page."
@revenant @Raspberryfloof at this point I'm debating forcing a location.reload() after 24 hours or something similarly stupid
@KS @Raspberryfloof sometimes lately i've been waking up in the middle of the night to my laptop fan going berserk and i'm pretty sure closing mastodon fixes it every time
