@bea @chr last I checked (which was back in 1.5.0, I think? so a little while ago, but still) if someone has a column pinned that doesn't actually exist, an error gets thrown on loading the web interface for that user and everything comes to a halt

You'd have to yell at upstream to fix that by ignoring/unpinning columns that it doesn't recognize, or at least doing something more sane than throwing an error message, but still
