Why are there both the basic shield and S3 elemental shields mixed together? Pick one or the other!

That, Colors & Generations proved they can do 2D games well to this day, with or without playing it safe to the retro crowd. I find the dogged sticking to "We'll re-re-re-re-remake Sonic 2" depressing more than anything..

I think it was a backlash against their early attempts to get 3D right paired with a particularly rabid fanbase. (MGS2 had a similar problem there..)

@GlitchyDragon They *can't*. I can't speak to Rush as I haven't played it, but Colors and Generations played like utter garbage; the latter being one of the few games I have ever gotten so pissed off at to actually uninstall.

Oh, they did make a good move, once. That was Sonic 4 Episode 1. The community promptly shit all over it and that was the end of that.

@KS Mm, I disagree on Generations- The 3DS version was great, the "everyone else" version was good too, except for That One Dang Perfect Chaos Boss Fight Really Wow. I suspect we just look for different things in Sonic games.

Colors I played the DS version, which I understand was substantially different from the console one.
