mastodon DOES support jamming as much as you want within a Note, but you'll become reviled fairly quick

mastodon WILL happily parse it but apply no facility to put a click-through on it; so you have a MASSIVE post in a column

@calvin @Elizafox @aleph which is exactly why my hack just takes the full length post, creates a note of it trimmed to the first paragraph only (with a link automatically tacked on to the end), and when it's viewed there it retrieves the full article.

but the more i look at it the more it looks like a ridiculous hack, i'd much rather use a proper element... an article, i think?
