@krainboltgreene practically, there isn't much of a limit. instances can (and a few do) change it themselves up to the maximum allowed to be stored in the DB column

@bea @krainboltgreene The largest I have seen so far in the wild is 2000 char. But that might not necessarily be the largest.

@KS Huh. Would you want services to read the broadcast or use the broadcast to lookup the full body?

@krainboltgreene I prefer them to read the broadcast because the full body also has markup that Mastodon doesn't normally support
