That's just going to give you the character count of ... the number of characters in the character counter. Which isn't very useful.

Just replace it with "{characterCounter}" outright.

Additionally, the disabled check for the publish button should just be "disabled={disabled || disableSubmitButton}", as otherwise it'll still check and disable the button at >500 characters.

Here's 10 and 20 iterations. Things certainly don't get any better. Hell, by 20 iterations some of the graphics have just decided enough is enough and disappeared entirely!

@unascribed for the record, there's a six-HP heart just before the boss battles start that you can get by spinning your cap on one of the rocky fruit stems

As long as you don't die none of the bosses respawn so you can keep going back and getting it whenever you need life

@Knives @Xkeeper You know, I've never given it any thought before, but it's the exact same way or me. Probably something to do with the moon representing mental state for me.
