Kaito / Katie Sinclaire @KS@is.a.qute.dog

@not_on_pizza they're the really long IDs that are timestamp based: e.g. "99454756825620532"

whereas everything before 2.0 used regular, auto-incremented sequential IDs: e.g. "371835"

admittedly a petty reason why I probably won't upgrade to 2.0 any time soon unless I find a way to hack it out:

I hate snowflake IDs. is.a.qute.dog will never use them.

(Obviously, it's not the only reason. It's not even the primary one. It's just another thing on the pile.)

@rambly happy birthday btw!

(Ras mentioned it as we were driving out to get food shortly after midnight)

@BatElite good morning~ (from the non-AD account for once!)

This instance's theme will probably be changing radically over the next week or so.

I mean "radically enough that it might not look like Mastodon anymore".

We'll see. I have ~ideas~.

@mawr @KawaSeadrake PHP is managable. JS is infinitely worse.

At least PHP was designed to run on web servers from the beginning unlike JS which is this hacked up abomination to make it do everything

I want to make all the numbers on my instance use a seven segment display font

I want to hug all the cuties right now

This is more important to me than taking something for my headache at work

say what you want about Papa Johns, they give me the best deals

@lighttrax *pets and rubs your head nice and gently* <3

just randomly twiddling with glitch-soc on awoo and

wow glitch-soc's frontend is so much smoother and more responsive than vanilla mastodon

really the only reason this instance still runs 1.6 is because interface responsiveness is still important to me and my laptop can't handle 2.0+ very well
