Kaito / Katie Sinclaire @KS@is.a.qute.dog

burning my dominant hand really sucks, when I have people I want to talk to and things to say

so like... there were two dramabombs yesterday (Sunday)?

I didn't even think much of the ableist stuff, because of all the goingson right next to me about kinkshaming

[11:10 PM] Kaito Sinclaire: today had one final trick up its sleeve for me
[11:11 PM] Kaito Sinclaire: went to cook a cheap pizza for me and the others, took it out of the oven and went to cut it, plate flipped over and landed right on my hand
[11:11 PM] Kaito Sinclaire: toasty hot pizza burns

words have power.

think about what you're going to say. think about what you're doing, and the effects it will have.

don't be afraid to escalate if you must. but... to immediately jump to maximum force removes the option of descalating.

we're all human.

can I say

i was really worried about what happened today, about how all the people i'd trusted, followed were going to agree with the people that tore down xkeeper, i was about ready to hide

instead i've seen unanimous support for them and despising what happened to them and it just threw me for a massive loop and

i'm actually crying now

ah yes

faux woke assholes shitting on marginalized people

i hope you rot, you petty shitbags

it's been said by more eloquent people even here on mastodon, even RECENTLY

but twisting the language and ideals developed to protect and empower the disadvantaged to attack them?

despicable

ha. haha. hahahaha...

this is nothing but another fucking twitter.

i'm right back to being too scared to share my real feelings.

nothing has fucking changed.

"I like the inconsistency and animations so go away, closed PR"

When there's something new users can point to in literally seconds that screams unprofessional, it's harder to convince them to stay. Just saying.

And using the fact that there are other apps as an excuse for letting your UI be inconsistent on purpose is just ... stupid.

Sorry, a little frustrated right now.

Just to point out, it doesn't look like this is actually going to get put in unless enough people talk about it to convince Eugen otherwise. They seem to be dead set on keeping the inconsistent UI style and annoying animations, saying there's "no need for consistency" for avatars.

If you disagree, please *say something*, otherwise it's likely things are going to stay as they are forever.

Pull request for a unified avatar styling: github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/

(by the way, if you like circle avatars a lot; this makes having circled avatars across mastodon as easy as setting "$ui-avatar-border-size: 100%")

be careful: not everything you read on the internet is false. you may occasionally stumble upon a rare phenomenon known as a "fact". these are hard to find intentionally but they are very powerful and very dangerous, so be sure to avoid them as best you can
