Kaito / Katie Sinclaire @KS@is.a.qute.dog

@Kortney @Kentaro @tiden from somebody that lives with the person in question: there were also multiple DMs sent to them as well doing the same thing

@zerojay nah, I'm self-hosted too. it just means I need to reconsider the people I follow and trust, really.

@zerojay because just like usual I feel that if I share anything at all, there will be *someone* who will disagree and react with explosive vitriol.

see also: what happened to Xkeeper today. (you'll have to look them up and talk elsewhere because they deleted their account due to what happened)

@KitRedgrave thank you <3

i don't even know how to put my feelings into words properly right now, just frustrated and shit watching this happen literally right next to me

@KitRedgrave hey, I normally give the hugs, but can I request one this time?

@xkeeper fucking sucks though, doesn't it?

let your guard down for a second, someone pounces with a barrel of vitriol

@xkeeper I mean I wouldn't personally delete since that would give a "success" sort of feeling to the exact people that don't need it in this case, but I have a kinda rebellious streak about me (maybe from @KitRedgrave )

ha. haha. hahahaha...

this is nothing but another fucking twitter.

i'm right back to being too scared to share my real feelings.

nothing has fucking changed.

@typhlosion all PokΓ©mon instances need more sylveons

Sylv sylv~

@vahnj I am happy to have played a minor part in this

@Eidolon the reply icon is different if a post is part of a thread (like this one)

@typhlosion @vahnj uhmm... I'll just take a glass of milk, please.

@Gargron That's really the main issue here; any given Mastodon instance has a UI that isn't consistent with itself in what is literally the biggest, most recognizable section to the end user. All I was trying to do was fix this up so that each instance would have one consistent design -- whether that be squares or circles, I don't care -- thus letting that instance's users design and work around it.

@Gargron I appreciate the apology, but I don't think you quite get why I'm upset; it's more based on content than simple rejection.

We can pretty easily agree that there are subjective aspects to design (round vs. square avatars), but maintaining a consistent design throughout the application isn't really subjective. Inconsistency is going to be treated as unprofessional to new users peering in, which negatively affects their chances of joining or staying.
