I know this is super super early to be asking but I figure it would be good to pose the question immediately

Would it be better for each instance to have a contributors page on that instance itself (probably at /contribs/)?

Or would it be better to have every instance link to a contributors page on the main site (a.k.a., hydroxyl.co)?

I can see upsides and downsides both ways

for the record, my personal license choice for anything I release open source is the zlib license, which requires attribution ("The origin of this software must not be misrepresented; you must not claim that you wrote the original software") and to state changes ("Altered source versions must be plainly marked as such")

the GPL is a blight upon software development and I wish it would die
